Readable, printable, archivable
The XML data is shown as a clear invoice – line items, VAT, bank details. One click creates a PDF copy.
Automatic calculation check
We verify totals, VAT amounts and mandatory details and point out any inconsistencies.
Do you need to send e-invoices yourself?
Since 1 January 2025, every business in Germany must be able to receive e-invoices. From 2027 or 2028, most businesses must also issue them – a PDF sent by e-mail will no longer be enough for B2B invoices. France is introducing a similar mandate based on Factur-X, the same format as ZUGFeRD.
With the e-invoice generator you create a valid XRechnung or ZUGFeRD / Factur-X PDF in minutes – checked against the official rules (EN 16931, XRechnung 3.0) and without expensive accounting software.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open an XRechnung file?
Drag the XML file into the box above or click “Choose file”. The invoice appears instantly as a readable document. Use “Download as PDF” or “Print” to file or share it.
Why do I only see code when I open the file?
An XRechnung is a pure data record in XML format, meant for accounting software. A text editor or browser therefore only shows the raw data. A viewer like this one turns it into a readable invoice. Learn more.
Are my invoices uploaded or stored?
No. Everything happens in your browser (JavaScript). The file is not sent to our server. You can check this by disconnecting from the internet after the page has loaded – the viewer keeps working.
Can I open ZUGFeRD and Factur-X PDFs?
Yes. ZUGFeRD / Factur-X PDFs contain an invisible XML file. We extract it, display the structured data, and you can save the XML separately – handy for bookkeeping.
Which formats are supported?
XRechnung 2.x and 3.x in both syntaxes (UN/CEFACT CII and UBL Invoice/CreditNote), ZUGFeRD 2.0–2.3 and Factur-X in all profiles (MINIMUM to EXTENDED), and Peppol BIS Billing 3.0.
Do I need to archive the PDF copy?
No. For tax purposes the original XML file is what counts and must be kept unchanged (8 years for accounting records in Germany). The PDF view is just an additional readable copy – always keep the original XML.
